Here is a bit about me!
I am Mara Garrett, Co-Owner of MTK and Vice President of MTEC!
When I'm not a busy bee managing the kennel or the stables - you will certainly find me enjoying life with my family. I have an extraordinary daughter and husband, 3 wonderful dogs and 3 beautiful horses keeping me on my toes, and many other dogs and horses in my kennels and stables like family as well. I like indie music, hamburgers, and my favorite color is red, although I very much like earthy colors too.

Isabella
Isabella is my adopted daughter and my top priority in life!
My sweet girl went through such a harsh life prior to her adoption, so she prefers to go by Ella. She is so kind and has grown to adore the animals around MTK and MTEC! Ella officially came home December 2023 and we could not be happier!

Beau
Beau is my wonderful husband and soulmate. I don't know how we didn't find each other before Ella, but life couldn't be more perfect now! We met when he came to MTEC interested in one of our horses for sale, and stayed with interest in me haha! He and Ella are so close, they have a precious connection I will always cherish.

Ossie
Ossie, previously called Silly, is my precious grumpy old man. He is a silky terrier, old, blind, and doesn't like anyone but me haha! He prefers to be left alone and spends most of his time cuddled up on our couch or my bed, napping the day away until I come home to give him treats and scratches!

Mika
Mika is our youngest pup, I am not sure what she is as I found her as a stray when she was hardly bigger than a guinea pig! After consulting many friends, we have come to the assumption that she may be some sort of Papillon mix. She is so very sweet, has the best puppy eyes look around, and has the energy of a small hoard of children, so she certainly keeps us on our toes!

Toyota
Toyota is our mantle great dane, she was a part of the first ever litter I had when I started out breeding danes. Unfortunately as she grew, she began having sudden issues with her right eye and had to have it removed. She is now trained as a therapy dog and we often take her to hospitals to meet the sick children. Since Ella came home, she has become special friends with her, the two are now inseparable!

Phantom is my beloved Dutch Warmblood / KWPN Stallion, absolutely my heart horse from the day I lay eyes on him. We have tried out various disciplines though my heart especially remains with jumping, and thankfully, my boy loves it too!

DEQ Olympic on the Fly
Olympia is the second KWPN I ever bought from the lovely Tia. After Phantom, I just had to have another from her, and she was the one to come home with me! She has since become Ella's horse and has done so wonderfully in teaching her to ride!

Rocky
ST Rocketeer
Rocky is Beau's thoroughbred gelding, he's had him since he was a yearling and started him on ranch work at 5 years old. For many years now they have made a great team rounding up and driving his cattle.
